Founded in 1987 after the deregulation of the bus networks, the British group Go-Ahead is today one of the national leaders in the public transport sector.It thus operates several bus companies (Go North East, Oxford Bus Company, Brighton & Hove, London Central, London General and Metrobus). It has 2,400 vehicles altogether, including 1,100 of the famous Imperials (the red double-deckers) which cross London and which are an integral part of its heritage.And that is not all. Having branched out, it now works in the railways, with two franchised companies Thames Trains and Thameslink, which provide daily services between the capital and the suburbs.Altogether the group carries 400 million people a year.Not content with this achievement, Go-Ahead has also ventured into airport services. In the countries biggest airports (most notably Gatwick in London), it takes care of passenger check-in, information desks, baggage handling, VIP lounges among other services.
