OneSteel Ltd (OST) merged with Smorgan Steel in 2007 becoming one of Australasia’s leading manufacturers and distributors of steel and finished steel products. Mines in Whyalla and its own recycling plants make the company self-sufficient in iron ore and scrap metal. The majority of OST’s steel products are used in the construction, manufacturing, housing, mining and agricultural industries. Products include structural, rail, rod, merchant bar, cold finished bar, chrome plated bar, reinforcing, wire, tube, pipes, fittings, valves and actuation, rail wheels and axles, lite steel beam, grinding media and recycled metals.
