About the company
Biofarm SA is a medium sized pharmaceutical
manufacturer. With a portfolio comprising 80
drug brands,
the company is a leader on the Romanian
market in syrups and solutions with a 15% market share (including foreign
imports). Biofarm is the only producer of pharmaceutical soft gelatin capsules
and one of the largest producers of tablets in
Since July 2004, Biofarm has GMP certified
production lines for all pharmaceutical forms. Biofarm`s lab instruments are
fully validated, calibrated according to GLP guidelines. The production areas
are designed and installed in compliance with ISO 14644-1:1999(E) and EU c GMP.
Production area class ISO 8 and ISO 9. Technical and auxiliary areas are
unclassified.
Annual production capacities reach 300 million soft
gel capsules, 2.1 million liters syrups, 570 000 liters solutions and 420
million tablets.
History
Biofarm was establish in 1924.
The privatization of company was held in 1997.
The company was listed on Rasdaq on 12.02.1996.
