BG40 Index

  On February 1st, 2005, BSE – Sofia launched its broader index BG40 with the base value of 100 points.

  Annual Percent Growth of BG40:

  2005 – 33.42%
  2006 – 49.80%

  BG40 is based on the issues of shares of the Top 40 companies, graded by the number of transactions executed in the last six months.

  The issues included in the calculation of the BG40 index should meet the following criteria:

• To be fully subscribed to and secondary tradable, and
• To have been registered for trading on the Official or Unofficial Market for at least 3 months before entering the index. In case an issue is transferred for trading from the Unofficial to the Official Market, then the registration date of the issue for trading on the Unofficial Market will be considered the initial date.

  40 companies take part in the index calculation.

  BG40 is calculated as the base value of the index is multiplied by the ratio between the sum of the weighted average price of the shares into the index portfolio, corrected by the divisor for each company and the sum of the weighted average price of the shares as of the start date of the Index and then multiplied by the adjusting coefficient of the index base.
