IP Filtering

Filtering by IP addresses is another way to protect your account. By using IP filtering, you only allow access to your account from a single or multiple computers with certain IP addresses. Thus, if someone has acquired your password and username and tries to login to your account from different IP addresses than those allowed, access will be denied.

What is an IP address?

The IP address (Internet Protocol Addresses) is a unique number, which identifies a computer and its location on the internet and issued by specialized organizations, with the aim to differenciate the computers on the internet. IP addresses consist of four number segments separated by dots, each ranging from 0 to 255, for example 193.68.0.25.

IP addresses can be either dynamic (changing) or static (fixed). Typically, most Internet Service Providers give domestic computers dynamic IP addresses, where upon connecting with the Internet the last two or only the last segment of numbers are changed.

The introduction of IP protection is suitable for clients with both static and dynamic IP addresses. By introducing an IP mask, you can allow access to your account from a whole series of IP addresses, for example 192.168.* mask provides access to the account of all IP addresses beginning with the digits 192168., No matter which are the subsequent figures. Similarly, you can refine the mask, by setting a change only in the fourth segment of the IP address as follows: 192.168.0.*.

To find out which type of IP address you use, ask your system administrator.

• At the bottom of our homepage;
• When you login to Delta Trading Platform - just below the box where you need to enter your username and password;
• It is also displayed directly below the IP addresses you have authorized.
